Short Serve Control
Start a rally with a low, controlled serve.
What you will learn
Start a rally with a low, controlled serve. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Check that the court is clear and others are outside racket range.
- Stand in a safe court area facing a target box.
- Hold the shuttle gently and swing the racket smoothly forward according to local serve rules.
- Check whether the shuttle crosses the net into the intended area.
- Practise a few gentle feeds and take a break before rushing.
Coaching tips
- Seek a coach's help with competition service rules.
- Keep movements small and be aware of nearby rackets.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
