What you will learn

Recognise the flight of a descending shuttle. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.

Practice step by step

  1. Check that the court is clear and others are outside racket range.
  2. Ask a partner to toss a shuttle gently in different directions.
  3. Watch the shuttle early, move under its path and catch it safely before using a racket.
  4. Notice which flights require earlier movement.
  5. Practise a few gentle feeds and take a break before rushing.

Coaching tips

How to progress

Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
