Volley Ready Hands
Practise a short controlled volley near the net.
What you will learn
Practise a short controlled volley near the net. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Make sure the court is clear and everyone has room for racket swings.
- Keep space between players and use slow feeds.
- Hold the racket in front, step toward a soft incoming ball and block it with a compact motion.
- Notice whether your racket stays steady.
- Repeat a few slow feeds before attempting a more demanding variation.
Coaching tips
- Avoid large swings close to the net.
- Comfortable timing is more important than swinging harder.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
