Ready Position and Movement
Move into the path of a pass before contact.
What you will learn
Move into the path of a pass before contact. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Begin with gentle ball movements in a clear, shared practice area.
- Start in a low comfortable stance facing a partner.
- Take small steps toward a gently tossed ball and stop balanced before playing it.
- Review how early you moved after seeing the toss.
- Repeat easy feeds, then try the movement with teammates when ready.
Coaching tips
- Positioning comes before diving.
- Call early and keep enough room for everyone to move.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
