Wing Positioning
Recognise useful attacking space near the side.
What you will learn
Recognise useful attacking space near the side. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Start with a gentle warm-up in an open area with your partners.
- Mark a wide lane and a central passing lane.
- Move wide enough to create an angle, then receive and return an easy pass.
- Notice whether a clear lane remains for another teammate.
- Repeat gently with teammates before adding movement or distance.
Coaching tips
- Avoid crowding the sideline.
- Use agreed safe, non-contact practice rules.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
