Body Feints for Beginners
Use shoulder movement to change a defender's expectation.
What you will learn
Use shoulder movement to change a defender's expectation. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Warm up gently with easy touches in a clear playing space.
- Place a cone in open space as an imaginary defender.
- Approach slowly, shift your shoulders one way and take the ball the other.
- Keep the ball close enough for your next step.
- Repeat a few controlled passes or touches, then try a new angle when comfortable.
Coaching tips
- Practise without an opponent before a friendly one-on-one.
- Look up between touches and give teammates enough space.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
