What you will learn
Learn the footwork pattern before adding speed. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Prepare on a dry, uncluttered court and start at a comfortable pace.
- Walk toward the basket without a ball at first.
- Practise the step sequence slowly, then add a controlled underhand finish.
- Check that your steps feel coordinated and your landing is balanced.
- Practise a few calm repetitions and gradually vary the angle only when ready.
Coaching tips
- Learn the rules with a coach or PE teacher.
- Keep control and awareness of other players on the court.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
