Box-Out Positioning
Understand rebounding space without pushing opponents.
What you will learn
Understand rebounding space without pushing opponents. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Prepare on a dry, uncluttered court and start at a comfortable pace.
- Use an imaginary opponent and a marked rebound zone.
- Find the opponent, turn to face the basket and take a stable position in the open space.
- Check your stance while leaving room for others.
- Practise a few calm repetitions and gradually vary the angle only when ready.
Coaching tips
- Practise as a no-contact movement first.
- Keep control and awareness of other players on the court.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
