Spacing on Offense
Make room for teammates to pass and drive.
What you will learn
Make room for teammates to pass and drive. This TRAINOVIX lesson shows a simple setup, a specific practice action and a way to notice your progress without rushing.
Practice step by step
- Prepare on a dry, uncluttered court and start at a comfortable pace.
- Mark four court positions with cones.
- Move the ball around while players shift to keep passing lanes open.
- Pause to see whether anyone is crowded into the same spot.
- Practise a few calm repetitions and gradually vary the angle only when ready.
Coaching tips
- Good spacing helps everyone participate.
- Keep control and awareness of other players on the court.
How to progress
Start with the simplest version of the activity. Give yourself enough time to learn the movement, ask for feedback when useful, and choose a more challenging variation only when your practice feels comfortable and controlled.
